Parrallel Universes as a tool to travese time and space
Let me let go of what I do and do not know and imagine for a minute.I have been thinking about this for a couple of days.
What if...
We accept that light is the fastest physical speed - not too hard 
Then accept that parallel universes or different dimensions exist - a bit harder
Then we have a finite limit and an unknown quotient respectively
In other words, a finite map and a set orbiting (and folded??) interpretations (or strings???) of that same map that allow by some unknown and extreme law of physics allows energy/matter to bridge space and time and cross incomprehensible distances by navigating between the orbit of the physical universe and of the orbit of the another universe by traversing across these different dimensions. Energy/matter would then have to align a third point; the equations would be insane but conceivable.
Imagine Copernicus Model below as geared clock:
Where each sphere moves at different rate or direction relative to the center
Where the center is the physical universe
And the encompassing spheres represent the parallel universes
So in other words - wormholes explained and Copernicus proved correct but he answered the wrong question
